Frequently Asked Questions

What are the conference dates?

The International Conference on Violence against Men & Boys will be held June 11-13, 2024. We ask attendees who are traveling in from out of town to arrive by Monday, June 10 including those who are hosting exhibitor tables and wish to set up prior to the event. The conference will begin Tuesday morning and end by lunch on Thursday.

How do I register and what does it cost?

You can find all details related to conference registration here including costs for attending or exhibiting.

Do you offer scholarships?

A limited number of scholarships are available for those with lived experience who wish to attend in person or virtually. Scholarships cover the cost of registration only. In-person attendees will be expected to cover the remaining costs associated with the event such as hotel, transportation, etc. and arrange their own related reservations. An application for scholarships will be made available soon, please check back for details periodically.

Is there a group discount?

Yes, we offer a discount for multidisciplinary groups of 5 or more individuals from the same agency. For more information and to register your group, visit our registration page here

Do you provide invoices or purchase orders?

Yes. If you are required to submit an invoice prior to getting approval for registration, or your registration fees will be paid by your agency, you may request an invoice by contacting events@kristihouse.org with the total number of individuals attending, the names and emails of those individuals, and the name of the individual/agency responsible for submitting the payment. Please indicate if you will pay by check or credit card.  Once we receive your request for an invoice, we will lock in your rate and hold your conference seats until the payment is processed or until May 20 (when all unpaid seats will be released). If your request to attend is denied by your agency, we kindly ask that you notify us so that we may release your seats for purchase to other interested parties.

Will there be networking opportunities available?

VAMB is hosting two networking events - one for all attendees and one specifically for individuals with lived experience. Refreshments will be provided at both. The general networking event for all attendees will be hosted Tuesday, June 11 at the event venue. Check the agenda for additional details regarding time and location for both events.

Can I substitute someone in my place?

We understand that plans change. In the event that you are unable to attend and wish to transfer your registration to a friend or colleague, we are more than happy to assist. Please email us and provide the name of the original registrant as well as all information related to the replacement (first/last name, title, agency, email, mailing address, and their primary role such as criminal justice, social services, government, legal, housing, etc.).

How do I request a refund?

We understand that plans change and you may have to cancel your attendance. If that happens, we can transfer your ticket to someone else of your request, donate your ticket to a scholarship applicant, or process a refund. If you would like to transfer or donate your ticket, contact conference coordinators with that request. If you prefer to receive a refund, VAMB and Kristi House will provide a full refund for any individual submitting their request prior to May 1. We will provide a 50% refund until May 20. After May 20, no refunds will be issued due to event and vendor contract commitments. Please note that all refunds are subject to a processing fee of 2.5% of the ticket value.  To request a refund, email your request and a copy of your registration confirmation/receipt to events@kristihouse.org and someone will respond within 48 hours.

What CEU credits do you offer?

Attendees will be eligible for various continuing education credits according to their profession and those details will be released at a later date. If you would like to apply for contact hours independently, our staff can assist with providing any required documentation of your attendance. All attendees who wish to receive a certificate of attendance will be provided that option following the event.

Do you provide attendance certificates?

VAMB will provide a certificate of attendance to any individual who submits an event evaluation following the conference. Some individuals who request certificates for CEUs/CEs will be required to register their attendance for each session on the daily attendance sheets provided in their selected courses. Additional details will be provided closer to the event.
